CRUMBS: Halloween 2012 Campaign

The direction from the V.P. of Marketing was to take inspiration from old horror b-movie posters. The cupcakes themselves had so much character it felt easy to build them into their own movie posters. It was a blast to research and emulate the typography and visual effects from this era. I also took a lot of inspiration from The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror Halloween specials. This was the first big campaign I did for Crumbs and it was smashing success. It was a perfect mix of strong visuals, nostalgia, cheeky humor and clever product placement. I used photos of myself for the bodies of the green monster, and the mummy, and asked my wife to model for the woman in The Curse of the Mummy's Cupcake. Note the movie titles and sub-titles. It's some of the funniest stuff I've ever written for a campaign.
